I know what you’re thinking. “Why is there a Florida ninja league qualifier that isn’t in Florida? Well, the Florida Ninja League is all about building the ninja community, and Ultimate Backyard Warrior is regarded by many as the best community-building competition in the nation. It’s basically a family reunion with awesome obstacles. It is one of the must-go-to events in the ninja world, and many Florida ninjas will be there anyway, so it just seemed like the right thing to do.
Since this is an out-of-state competition, there are a few special rules involved, so please pay close attention.
The first stage will be what is looked at when determining the top 20%.
Qualifying spots to out of state ninjas are locked in at the top 20% and will not drop down in response to ninjas that are already qualified. EXAMPLE: If 200 ninjas compete, that means the top 40 will qualify for the state finals. If 6 of the top 40 ninjas are already qualified, then if ninjas 41 - 46 are from out of state, they will NOT have the qualifying status dropped down to them.
This is one of two competition where a qualifying ninja will be given a grace period to register for the Florida Ninja League after their run is complete. Many ninjas in Florida still don’t know that this league exists, so all ninjas will be given up to one week after the competition to register for the league and officially be eligible for the State Finals.
Other things to note about UBW:
This competition is also a UNAA local and regional qualifier, so this one comp could get you into 2 league finals!
There are ridiculous amounts of prize money involved. “Over $18,000 in prize money at stake including $4,000 for our up and coming "Pro-Kids!”! Go to UBW’s event page for the prize breakdown.
There is a special Ninja-ran church service on Sunday morning. The preaching, instruments, and singing will be performed by ninjas.
A special “beginner’s course” will also be made available to those who are just getting their feet wet into the ninja community.
